With its shores opening up to industrial and natural areas this is a great place to explore.

I parked up beneath the bridge and followed the footpath along the river. There's plenty to see such as the remains of this old boat, its engine which once upon a time propelled it through the water, now idle and covered in seaweed.

Shellness is located on the South Eastern shore of the Isle of Grain, Kent, England.

A beach entirely covered with shells it looks across to the mouth of the River Thames.

The town of Leysdown on Sea is located a couple of miles away where you can park up as its a worthwhile walk to the beach. There are plenty of views on the way from old beach huts and cottages to abandoned boats.

Park up and stroll along the coastal footpath where erosion of the cliffs has seen these two WWII lookout posts fall onto the beach.
Cycling along the se front from Leysdown on Sea I came across a row of beach cottages, some in a better state of repair than others. This took my eye, full of driftwood, fishing nets and anything the sea had washed up, the place looks a great retreat.
